5 WAYS TO SAVE MONEY ON ONLINE PURCHASES
—
I think I speak for many when I say that the most stressful part of the holidays is the amount of money we are expected to spend — on food, on gifts, on our homes. But it’s also unavoidable, so the next best option? Save money on your purchases! Included here is a list of ways I love saving money on my online purchases. And the best part? They’re options you can use all year round!
CHIRPYEST:
Chirpyest is absolutely one of my favorite tools to save money online. They have a plugin for your browser so every time you shop you can see if you're on a participating site. If you are, you can get a percentage of cash back on your purchase (they go up to 30%!). I've received literally hundreds of dollars back on my purchases just by using this one tool.Follow this link for $10 back immediately.
EBAY:
eBay may feel outdated, but that honestly makes it work in your favor (think: less competition!). You can find brand new items from places like Anthropologie or West Elm, gently used items for far less than retail, and you can save hundreds in the process. While eBay isn't the best for large decor pieces, it's perfect for little things like decor pieces and textiles.FACEBOOK MARKETPLACE:
For those bigger secondhand (or even brand new!) pieces you can't easily purchase online. Facebook Marketplace has one of the best selections of furniture that I've ever seen. It gives you a chance to support individuals or small businesses directly, and often you can get brand-new pieces from places like West Elm for more than 50% off.Pro tip: Can't pick an item up? There are tons of services that help with this -- don't be afraid to look!
TIKTOK CODES:
This one might seem silly, but it's also a lesser-known way to save money when you shop online. On platforms like TikTok, influencers are given individual codes to promote purchases. For example, if you wanted to make a purchase through Rejuvenation, you could search "rejuvenation code" in TikTok and find individuals who provide you with up to 15% off in most cases.RETAILMENOT:
RetailMeNot is a great spot to search for promo codes if all else fails. While sometimes the codes are expired or don't work, oftentimes you can find working codes for a percentage or dollar amount off your purchase. Don't be afraid to try different codes out!Pro tip: Pair with Chirpyest to save even more!
